Electric Fences

Electric fences are ment for protecting your properties from animals and also for restricting an area for a cattle.

The basic idea of an electric fence is to provide minor electric shock when anyone touches it. The influence on the electricity is as weak as possible but strong enough to make sure that the animal does not want to touch it again. If the animal receives a sufficient shock on this first encounter, it usually stays clear of the fence afterward.

Another important issue is that the shock can not be very strong so that it would hurt anyone. It can only warn, not injure.

Three components that make it possible to deliver an electric shock are the energizer, the grounding system and the fence deign. There are several important aspects of fence design including bracing structures, materials and wire number and spacing. For cattle fences, there are different requests for cattle, sheep, horses and wildlife.

The ideal fence is inexpensive to build and effectively control animals. There is no single design that meets these criteria for every application. The effectiveness of any design depends on the type of animal that must be controlled, the materials used in construction and site characteristics.
