Everytime you hear people talk about their dreams and goals in life they say things like, "Oh I want to live in a nice home. A beautiful car, a white picket fence, a husband and beautiful chidlren; etc"
What is so great about white picket fences?
Answer:
"Good fences make good neighbors" - They give you a sense of ownership ("this is my property, that's yours"). They act as a marker between your yard, and the neighbor's. They can keep something/someone in, or keep something/someone out, depending on your viewpoint.
